Hello!

If you are visiting this site, you might be wondering why I am selling internet ad space online and inside my house. The simple truth is that I'm doing it so I can keep my house and save it from foreclosure. It's all about my home, my first home, of which I purchased at the peak of the biggest surge in real estate in a long time back in October 2005. It's been a battle since I bought the home, struggling the whole time I've had it. I guess you just really don't know how much work and money owning a house can be until you own one. At the time, I had just switched jobs and barley got a loan to pay for the house. The yard was basically a bunch of weeds and there was river rock implanted in the front of the house buried under a few inches of dirt almost a foot deep. There is no back yard for lack of a fence and the trees around the front were just recently removed due to disease. To make a long story short, I'm in desperate need of money to keep from losing the house, and I am in need of money to bring in a crew to get the yard up to date and xeriscaped with low maintenance water friendly plants. Instead of just living with the frustration, I've decided to do something about it by starting this site to make some internet history and to make my mark by doing what I believe in, but most of all, to keep my home.

Why advertisements on the web and in my house? I've heard of a couple of people doing crazy things to make money, like the guy in Canada who traded a paperclip for a house in under a year, and the guy who made a million dollars to pay for college by selling ads online. I wanted to take these 2 ideas and come up with something even crazier. With ads covering my walls and ceiling, I will sell internet ad space online and in my house for money. I invite the media to come and see the house as the walls fill up!

Why advertise inside the house? I first thought about plastering the outside of the house with ads, including the roof. Since my neighbors would probably not approve, what with the news media helicopters buzzing around and the increased car and foot traffic on my street, I decided to plaster the inside of my house instead.

How does all of this work anyway? As the ads come in, I'll be posting them in the proper sections on the home page. You'll notice that I've broken the home page up into rooms, with the top most room being the living room. The pricing structure for each room will be determine the price of the advertisement in square inches in my house and in square pixels on this site, with the top most rooms costing more than the bottom most rooms. The reason for this pricing structure is that the top most rooms will be more visible than the bottom most on the home page, from a viewer's perspective in the web browser. Along with the posted ads, I'll also have the same ads printed out in full color, and I will place them inside my house at my discretion according to the room you have chosen. I'll probably start on the ceiling, as I don't want to block the view of any ads with furniture. I've done some calculations and decided that 1 square inch in my house will equal 4 pixels on the homepage, so if you purchase a 10x10 pixel ad, you will also get a 2.5"x2.5" ad in my house. The Ads on this site will be around for about 5 years, but the ads inside my house will run for a few months after I sell the last on the site, or at my discretion. I might just love all of the ads and want to keep them, or maybe I'll make a huge piece of artwork from them… I'll definitely keep you posted!

Keep an eye out for updates to the house, and help support my advertisers by visiting their great sites!

Thank You!

On to the Ads!
The house is located right in the middle of sunny California, in the small town of Visalia of which I call home. Visalia is growing as people move up from Los Angeles, and down from San Francisco to get away from the big city life.
Since Visalia is so close to the giant redwoods in the Sequoia National Forest, we tend to get a lot of tourists traveling through who like to stop and check out our thriving downtown. Of course, this is a really old photo of our downtown, but it hasn't changed much. My house is located about 3 blocks from here, and walking to meet with friends is the best way to get around.
At a distance, you can see how small the house is. It's big enough for me, but it's still a lot of work to maintain. I love it!
Here is a shot of the front of the house. As you can see, the yard has been a problem since I moved in, nothing but weeds and hard clay dirt that nothing else will grow in!
